Diarmaid Ferriter: The Border

This event is kindly sponsored by Oliver O’Connor, Board Member of Happy Days EIBF

Historian and author Diarmaid Ferriter provides a concise history of the Irish border in his richly-detailed book, The Border: The Legacy of a Century of Anglo-Irish Politics.  With Brexit now placing the border centre-stage, Ferriter looks at how the story of the border has unfolded over the years.  He is Professor of Irish History at University College, Dublin.

Ferriter is particularly interesting on the origins and early history of the border… his timely book explains all this and more, deftly interweaving history and current affairs.
